Includes multi-platform downloadable apps, will roll out in the next few weeks.

Biggies including Apple, Google, Microsoft, and Amazon have their own app stores. Now it’s Facebook ‘s turn to try its luck with application repositories. Thesocial networking giant is calling it the App Center . This store will not only feature browser-based Facebook apps, but will alsoinclude installable desktop and mobile software.
Needless to say, the App Center will have a social flavour to it, and will promote apps that are built around Facebook, like Pinterest, Spotify, Battle Pirates, and Bubble Witch Saga . Moreover, FB claims that they will focus more on quality apps, rather than promoting every new app. It goes on to say that software with poor user ratings will be taken off eventually. From the mobile App Center, users can browse for apps that are compatible with their device, and if a mobile app requires installation, they will be redirect to download the same from the App Store or Google Play .
Facebook seems very confident about its App Center, and with user-base of 900 million, why shouldn’t it be? The repository will start rolling out to users in next few weeks.

However, the developer preview version is already up and running, therefore, those interested in submitting their apps can find more details here .
