Users get to access their favorite Facebook application as well as a plethora of popular applications for Android and iOS.

Facebook has launched an application store for mobile phones and tablets. The app store allows mobile devices todownload and play Facebook based application right on the mobile devices itself.
Facebook is beginning to roll out the app Center to its nearly 1 billion users, so theycan find games and other applications with social components more easily.
Facebook app center is a one stop shop for Facebook applications as well as applications based on Android or iOS and users will be able to search and read descriptions about these applications right from the Facebook app centre.
While the Facebook apps will be available from the app centre itself, for Android and iOS apps, user will be directedto the respective app stores.
Currently, many people are introduced to Facebook apps in the form of sometimes annoying requests from their friends such as for Poker Partners, Scrabble Buddies orneighbors on virtual farms. Those requests haven’t necessarily matched a user’s specific interests.
But that will change with this new app center, which will initially feature about 600 Facebook apps, mostly games, reviewed by the company to meet quality standards. Games, such as Zynga’s”CityVille” and Electronic Arts’ The Sims, are the most popular types of apps on Facebook.
What Facebook is banking on is the personalisation that it can offer to users, by recommendations to users, people will find new types of applications beyond games, along with games that are more interesting to them.
“We spend all day, every daybuilding a platform (so that) great social games and apps can exist,” said Matt Wyndowe, product manager for apps and games at Facebook. But a common question has long been whereto find them. “Up until now, we haven’t had a great answer tothat question.”
Facebook said that on mobile devices, the app center won’t compete with other app stores, such as Apple’s or Google’s. Rather, the app center will send users to those other stores to download the programs. People can also get mobile apps from their regular computers by using a feature called “send to mobile.”
