Now Personalise Your Gmail Inbox With Custom Themes

Back in November, Gmail had been revamped and Google’s made some more changes now albeit subtly, compared to the earlier redesign of their e-mail service. Google states that Themes have been an important part of Gmail ever since they launched them back in 2008. Not only do they let you personalize your inbox with fun backgrounds, but they’real so practical, helping you easily differentiate between multiple Gmail inboxes (e.g. work and personal).
They further explain thatwhen they unveiled Gmail’s new look back in November; they introduced a number of new, beautiful HD themes. They also heard that many of their users wanted to bring an even more personal touch by setting their own background.

So over the next couple of days Google will be rolling out a new Custom themes section with two options, Light and Dark where youcan do just that.
One can now upload theirown images directly, select from their Google+photos or simply paste any image URL. Or, if one doesn’t have a particularimage in mind, they can browse Google’s searchable Featured Photos section to find one that speaks to them. With so many great options, it may be hard to choose, so to get a sense of the images available, one can try searching for ‘hdr scenery’ or ‘bokeh wallpaper’ in the Featured tab.
Google claims, “Whether you want to bask on a tropical island or simply reminisce about last year’s holiday with the family, your Gmail can now be customized to your mood. Find your perfect image and make your Gmail your own with custom themes.”
The update has not beendished out to all users, just yet, but it should be available within the next couple of days. The addition of including yourown image is a great feature as one can easilycustomize their e-mail background with an image of their choice. Adding a personal image to one’s email gives one the highest form of uniqueness, as comparedto standard backgroundsthat have been there.
